December 28, 1953 – June 12, 2020
Bill Spence, aged 66 years, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020 at Texoma Medical Center after a brief illness. Mr. Spence was born December 28, 1953, and was adopted when he was three years of age by W.Y. and Dorothy Spence of Madill, OK. He lived his life in Madill and Kingston from the time of his adoption. He graduated from Silo High School and attended Murray State College. During his high school years and life he worked for his father on the Madill, Little City and Kingston ranches. He was raised in Little City until his teen years when he moved to Madill. He was busy assisting his wife and son with 4-H and FFA projects during the years and was always offering a helping hand on ranches and at stock shows. Bill was a member of the Baptist Church and as a child had 16 years of perfect Sunday School Attendance. As an avid reader he had a collection of Louis Lamour books and watched endless western "ole time" movies. He loved to play the guitar and sing. He was also an accomplished oil and pen artist. Mr. Spence was married to Patricia Marie Fogle for 37 years until her death in 2017. Bill dearly loved his nightly telephone conversations with his son Christopher. He was a great father, husband, brother, friend, and neighbor. He will be greatly missed by his Coffee Drinking group at Country Kitchen and in the community.
Bill is survived by:
Son: Christopher Spence.
Sister: Patty Spence Wilhite.
Nieces: Kerry and Tammy Wilhite.
Plus a host of wonderful friends and extended family too numerous to name. His constant furry companions were Bruce, Kitty and Milo.
He was preceded in death by his parents W.Y. and Dorothy Spence, his wife Patricia Spence, and one brother, Jerry Taliaferro.
Pallbearers: Bill Buck, Bill Jones, Donnie & Ronnie Hartin, Robbie Kendrix, Salty Melton, Kenny Townsend,Skip Damron, Dan & Zachary Green, Dudley Rowland, Larry Spence, Tommy Spence, Tanner Green and Ben Bruster.
