Early morning on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, the world lost a fun-loving man, Michael John "Mike" Manning at the age of 61 at his residence in Marietta, OK. His journey in life began in Loma Linda, CA on June 24, 1960, born to Annie Louise (Brooks) and Charles Manning. Mike grew up and attended school in California. He moved from Ranch Cucamonga, CA to Oklahoma in 1979.

Mike worked at the Marietta Cookie Factory and the last 18 years he worked at WinStar as a Security Supervisor. He was a dedicated and hardworking man. Mike always had a smile on face and was larger than life. He was a very ornery man and loved to tell stories, most of them you weren't sure the legitimacy of. There was certainly not a dull moment when Mike was around. He enjoyed his farm life with his dogs and donkeys, fishing, and spending time with all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mike was loved by many and will be missed.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Charles Manning; wife, Cathy Manning, grandson, Kaysen Gage; stepdaughter, Amanda Jefferson; and brothers, Wayne, and Phillip Manning.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Nery Manning of the home; son, Michael Jay Manning and wife Samantha of Marietta; mother, Annie Manning of Thackerville, OK; mother of his son, Tanya Willis of Leon, OK; bonus children, David Loma, Kim Fexico, Vanessa Jefferson all of Ardmore, OK, and Nikki Davis of Leon, OK; brothers, Kevin Manning of Gainesville, TX, Mark Manning of Thackerville, and Andy Manning of Riverside, CA; sister, Rose Westra of Thackerville; grandchildren, Jordyn, Jacee, Bailey, Dakota, Ashlyn, Rayah, Haley, Autumn, Mayra, Juan, Benito, Tyler, Cassidy, and Linday; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate Mike's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 13, 2022 at the Thackerville Community Church with Pastor Chris Mauldin officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Thackerville under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Marietta. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Casket bearers are Jimmy Dunigan, Tony Swint, Nick Chill, Jerry "J.J." Johnson, Mathew Balch, and Tommy Hawkins. Honorary bearers are past and present WinStar Security team.
