JoAnn Berniece Stowers, 86 of Madill, Oklahoma passed away Friday, February 20, 2009 at the Madill Hospital. JoAnn was born on May 24, 1922 in Millcreek, Oklahoma. She was raised in Millcreek where she graduated in 1940 from the Millcreek High School. She married James Monroe Stowers on May 12, 1942 in Millcreek. He preceded her in death on January of 1994. After they married she moved to the west side of Madill where she lived the rest of her life. JoAnn was a member of the Oakview Baptist Church where she kept the Church nursery for 39 years. JoAnn enjoyed reading, cooking, loved to work in her yard and loved children. JoAnn is survived by: Daughter: Tammy Franklin and husband; John, Madill, Oklahoma Grandson: Jamie Burkhart and wife; Christi, Abilene, Texas Great Grandchildren: Haley and Alex Burkhart, Abilene, Texas Sister: Peggy Mauldin and friend; Clairie Vincent, Santa Rosa, California Nephew: Berylin Damron and wife; Mary, Marietta, Oklahoma Several Neices and Nephews JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
