William Gary Bearden of Marietta, OK, was born November 22, 1924 at Brock, OK, the son of William James and Fannie V. Wade Bearden. He passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 in Mercy Health Love County, Marietta, at the age of 86. Raised in Love County, Mr. Bearden moved away for a number of years and returned three years ago to make his home here, moving from Bakersfield, CA. He worked in the oil field as a roughneck and superintendent, including offshore and overseas. In addition, Mr. Bearden also worked on farms and in shipyards. His hobbies were rebuilding vehicles, welding and rental properties; however, his passion was wild horses. He truly loved horseback riding. Mr. Bearden was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Stacy Janyne Bearden Hendon; two sisters, Pauline Lee Madden and Geneva Carlile; and six brothers, Roscoe, Lee, Edgar, Clyde, Donnie and Fred Bearden. Survivors include two sons, William Roscoe "Rocky" Bearden of Marietta and Ricky Edward Bearden of Bakersfield; mother of his children, Willie Frances Stricklind Bearden of Marietta; two grandchildren, Siera Frances Hendon, also of Marietta and Derrick Bearden of Austin, TX; and a great-grandchild.
