Obituary

J.W. "Jake" Thrasher, 86 of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at the Family Care Center in Kingston. He was born on April 4, 1925 in Whitebead, Oklahoma to the late James Madison Thrasher and Martha Ellen Dixon Thrasher. Jake was raised in Whitebead and Paoli, Oklahoma. He married Nadean Florence on January 13, 1945 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. Jake spent many years on the road selling agriculture supplies in Southeastern Oklahoma. He was manager and co-owner of T-E Agri Supply until his retirement in 1988. In 1988 he moved to Alberta Creek where he lived the rest of his life. Jake was a member of and very active in the Lighthouse Methodist Church, Kingston, OK. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, working outside and he loved his family. The family would like to express their gratitude by thanking the Family Care Center of Kingston for the loving care they gave Jake during the past 21 months and support provided to the family. He is survived by: Wife: Nadean F. Thrasher, Kingston, Oklahoma Children: Jo Dean Taylor and husband, R. D., Norman, Oklahoma Ron Thrasher and wife, Coeta, Elbert, Colorado Laquita Stamper, Kingston, Oklahoma Grandchildren: Travis Taylor and wife, Jaime, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Stacie Walker, Norman, Oklahoma Crystal Reedholm and husband, Bobby, San Diego, California Tad Lucas Thrasher and wife Jodi, Aurora, Colorado Destiny Thrasher, Elbert, Colorado Beth Stamper, Colorado Springs, Colorado Great Grandchildren: Abby and Emma Taylor, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Raleigh and Zoe Walker, Norman, Oklahoma Bobby, Claire, Jake and Sam Reedholm, San Diego, California Brooklynn and Austin Lucas Thrasher, Aurora, Colorado Sister: Mary Ellen Richardson, Elmore City, Oklahoma Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends. Jake was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers; Hayden, Carl Desmond and Glen, 4 sisters; Verna Brewer, Helen Hurst, Opal Gross and Vivian Pearson.
