Azal Gilbert was born January 14, 1923 at Jimtown, OK the daughter of William Hamilton Lane and Mary Caroline McGee Lane. She passed away Friday, November 29, 2013 in Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta, at the age of 90. Mrs. Gilbert had been a resident of Love County all of her life. She attended school at Jimtown and then worked for many years at Simmons Café and the Ole Coffee House in Marietta. Mrs. Gilbert was a member of the Leon Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Bill Otwell; and three sisters. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Doyle and Barbara Gilbert of Comanche, OK and Garron and Debbie Gilbert of Bay Saint Louis, MS; daughter, Lucy Otwell of Jones, OK; two sisters, Nonnie Miller of Marietta and Geneva Stroope of Midwest City, OK; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Serving as casket bearers will be Mike Parker, Mike White, Larry Hicks, Duane Hicks, Herb Erhart and Jack Hartman. Honorary bearers are Billy Lambert and Bill Dvorak.
