Jessie Lee Sandefur, 86 of Madill, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. She was born on December 24, 1929 in Alex, Oklahoma to John Martin Richardson and Julia Underwood Richardson. Jessie was raised in Alex and Stonewall, Oklahoma before moving to Madill in 1949. Jessie married Cleo Martin Sandefur on April 5, 1949 in Grayson County, Texas and he preceded her in death on March 30, 2011. She received her Master's in Education at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She worked as an Elementary Teacher for 20 years and had received the Teacher of the Year award. Jessie was a member of the EA, NEA and was President and Secretary of the PTA. She was also the President, District Director and on the State Finance Board for the local B&PW. Jessie was a very active member of the Church of the Nazarene where she served on the board and as church secretary and treasurer. She also taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and received a Distinguished Service Award for church service. Jessie was a member of the Retired Educator's Association, VIP member Award Oyohoma where she served as President, Vice President and Secretary. She also was a member of the Chickasaw Council of Elders and Co-chairman of the Chickasaw Senior Nutrition site where she served as President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasure. Jessie enjoyed reading, gardening and loved her church.

Richard Sandefur and wife Patti, Norman, Oklahoma
6 Grandchildren: 11 Great Grandchildren
Brother: Johnny Dale Richardson, Ada, Oklahoma
Sister: Mary Jo Bird, Stonewall, Oklahoma
Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother and 1 sister.
