Willis Hall Thompson, affectionately known as "Tuffy" by some, was born September 1st, 1963, in San Antonio, TX to Anna (nee Draper) and Parker Thompson. He died on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at his Marietta, OK residence.
Willis grew up in San Antonio, and eventually found his way to Marietta around 1998. He married the former Debra Jean Petersen on September 2, 1990 in Ft. Worth, TX.
Willis had worked numerous jobs and had spent a lot of time at the Dollar Tree Distribution Center and eventually worked as a maintenance and apartment manager in Lone Grove and Healdton. He couldn't sit still, unless he was watching some of his favorite shows like Days of Thunder, Tremors, Armageddon, Tango and Cash, or any Tom Cruise movie. He was also a fan for life of Star Trek, especially the original TV series. He also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, but not nearly as much as his lifelong team, the Texas Longhorns.
Willis was born the eighth of ten siblings. He is survived by his wife, Debra Thompson of the home; children, La'Ray Petersen-Westervelt and husband Ken of Aurora, CO, Matthew Willis Thompson and wife Cassidy of Thackerville, OK, and Bradley Hall Thompson and fiancé Brittany McFarland of Thackerville, and adopted son, Christopher Sanchez of Ardmore, OK; grandchildren, Henry Willis Thompson of Thackerville, Lexington Quinn Petersen of Aurora, and he was also know as Papa to Liam Childress of North Carolina; older brothers Loyd and Gary, older sister Lois, younger brother Terry, younger sister Julie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, older brothers Parker (Junior), Shelton, Harland (Frankie), and Larry.
Willis was full of life and lived it on his own terms. He was a tireless, hard worker and a loving and caring husband, father, brother, and uncle. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
A service to celebrate the life of Willis Hall "Tuffy" Thompson will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta. A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M, under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
