Willie Odis Bridgeman

Willie Odis Bridgeman, 84, of Kingston, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at his home in Kingston. He was born at home on Briar Creek on March 7, 1942, to the late Willie Wrenzy “John I” Bridgeman and Omie Pearl Hambrick Bridgeman. Willie was raised in the Briar Creek and Powell area. He attended school through the eighth grade at Powell before graduating from Madill High School in 1960. Willie later attended classes in business at Murray State College. Throughout his life, Willie was known as a hardworking and dedicated man. He worked at the Ridley Packing Plant in Duncan, Oklahoma, spent time as a carpenter and commercial fisherman, and faithfully farmed and ranched throughout his life. Willie opened and operated Catfish Platter in Willis, a business he owned and operated for 42 years. Through his work and friendly personality, he became well known throughout the area and made many lasting friendships. Willie was a faithful member of Willis Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed dancing, gardening, ranching, and spending time with his family. He was a man who appreciated the simple blessings of life and took great pride in his family, his work, and his community.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Bud Bridgeman of Madill; daughters, Debbie Keatts and husband Bruce of Kingston, and Amy Davis and husband Rodd of Kingston; six grandchildren, Alison Clowers and husband John, Amber Newton and husband Jonathan, Trey Keatts, Cash Davis, Destry Davis, and Rylee Davis; and four great-grandchildren, Kage Clowers, Klay Clowers, Jolie Clowers, and Auburn Newton; brother, James Bridgeman of Kingston; sisters, Joanne Porter of Kingston, Rebecca Shaw of Red Oak, Texas, and Thelma McGahey of Kingston; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Jerry Bridgeman; and his sister, Maxine Oldham.

Willie will be remembered for his fish, his strong work ethic, his love for the outdoors, his joyful spirit, and the kindness he showed to those around him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
