Obituary

Aron began this life on July 17, 1963, in Ardmore, OK, the son of Roscoe and Brenda (Willis) Hicks. He graduated from Turner High School with the Class of 1981. In his younger years, Aron enjoyed team roping and embraced the western way of life that remained close to his heart throughout the years. Following high school, Aron attended X-ray laboratory technician school and then worked for several years at the hospital in Tishomingo, OK. In 2005, he began a career in the oil field as a driller before eventually returning to the land he loved, farming and ranching. He also maintained golf carts at Falconhead Resort in Burneyville, where he made many lasting friendships. Aron was currently working at Sooner Electric where he was a right-hand man and jack of all trades.

Aron had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. Whether he was casting a line on the water, playing a round of golf, or working cattle, he was happiest surrounded by nature. He also faithfully served his community as a volunteer firefighter with the Jimtown Volunteer Fire Department, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

On November 28, 2025, Aron married the love of his life, Dottie Bench, after sharing more than 23 wonderful years together. Their relationship was built on love, devotion, and unwavering companionship.

Above all else, Aron treasured his family. He was a loving husband, son, father, Papa, brother, uncle, and friend whose generous spirit, kind heart, and easygoing nature touched the lives of everyone who knew him. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roscoe Hicks; and a son, Justin Hicks.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Dottie Hicks, of the home; mother, Brenda Hicks of Marlow, OK; son, Colt Shinn and wife Brittany of Ardmore; daughters, Jessica Hicks of Canada, Sarah Jane Bumpass and husband Jason of Idaho, and Tanyia Keltner and husband Brad of Madill, OK; sister, Stephanie Lemons and husband Brent of Marlow; grandchildren, Chase Hicks, Bella Hicks, Adrianna Hicks, and Melody Shinn; a special niece, Alisha Lemons; a special nurse and caregiver, Shyanne Parker; along with many beloved cousins, extended family members, and numerous friends who will forever cherish his memory.
