Wendyl Gene Vick Sr. 85, entered into this life on February 18, 1939, in Madill, Oklahoma to the late Basil Vick and Mattie Armstrong Vick.  He departed from his life to his heavenly home on August 14, 2024. Gene attended several schools and graduated from Arlington High School in Arlington, Texas.  He married Anna Lou Miller on December 17, 1957 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.

Gene was well known and loved by all his neighbors.  He loved his country with great patriotism. He was the epitome of the American Dream.  A man who started with nothing, but worked hard in construction work, went to school and educated himself, while pushing through the struggles and challenges of everyday life working toward his American Dream.  Most of Gene's career was dedicated to writing software programs that are still used in banking across the United States and Abroad, including writing the program for the Federal Reserve that allows us to use our debit and credit cards today to make purchases.

We are proud to know our father's name will be carried on through our families' future generations.  As his children, we are honored to have had him as our dad. His love, goodness and friendship will be missed by all who know him. Gene was an exceptionally intelligent man.  He was funny, witty and always loved to tell a good story.  He enjoyed laughing and making others laugh.  He was faithful to his obligations, his responsibilities, and to his family, but more than anything he adored his dogs.

May his legacy of commitment, determination and dedication live on through generations of our family as we move forward to navigate this life without him.  Go Rest High on the Mountain Dad, your work on earth is done.

You will be missed like no other.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Anna (Miller) Vick, his three dogs, Bubba, Sissy and Cuddles and his five children: Mary DeLaine Lowe and Husband, Mike of Madill, Wendyl Gene Vick Jr. and Wife, Beckey of Madill, David Allen Vick of Madill, James Ray Vick of Madill, Karen Ann Vick of Kingston.

Grandchildren:            Misty Trivitt, Breann Robertson, Stephanie Thomas, Wendyl Gene Vick the third (Trey), and Brian Vick.

Gene has 13 great grandchildren with one named Wendyl Gene Vick the fourth (Dace).

Extended Family:  Bradley Vick from Arkansas, Ronnie Vick from Arkansas and Brennon Vick from Colorado

Gene was preceded in death by his grandson Aaron Ray Vick, his parents Basil and Mattie Vick.
