Wanda "Sis" Kingston of Burneyville, OK, was born July 26, 1923, in Gainesville, TX, the daughter of Carl Calvin and Hattie Cynthia Cantrell Culwell. She passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2008, in Lake Country Nursing Center, Marietta, OK, at the age of 84. A resident of Love County most of her life, Mrs. Kingston was a retired cook having worked at Turner School and also Falls Creek Baptist Assembly. She and Amel G. Kingston were married October 14, 1944, in Marietta, and he preceded her in death on May 28, 1989. A 1942 graduate of Burneyville High School, Mrs. Kingston then worked as a welder in the shipyards in Houston, TX, during World War II. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed writing letters. Mrs. Kingston loved her family very much and will be remembered for the many letters she wrote to them. A member of Eastman Baptist Church, she loved the Lord and served him as long as she was able. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Kingston was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ann Narmore; two brothers, Bob Culwell and Son Culwell; and a very special sister-in-law, Oleta Culwell.
