Obituary

Tom "Pa" Farve was born August 10, 1945 at Enville, the son of David Farve and Lena Francis McCurtain-Farve. He passed away Friday, September 14, 2012 in Ruidoso, NM at the age of 67. A lifelong resident of the Enville community, Mr. Farve graduated from Greenville High School with the Class of 1964. On April 17, 1964 he married Sandra Kay Gardner in Gainesville, TX. Mr. Farve was a self-employed carpenter who loved mentoring children. He coached several basketball and baseball teams over the years and also taught golf and gave instruction on bull-riding. He was known to hand out nicknames to those he mentored, and those names have typically been maintained. Mr. Farve also loved raising, breaking and riding horses. He was a proud member of the Chickasaw Nation and very proud of his Grandfather, James Cotton McCurtain who was a member of the Chickasaw Nation Hall of Fame. Mr. Farve loved traveling with his brother, his cousin Carnes Porter, and his friend Gary Brown on trips to Nashville and to golf tournaments. He loved his dogs and country music. Mr. Farve will be remembered as a kind man who never turned anyone away. He enjoyed life to the fullest, but perhaps what brought him the most enjoyment in life was sharing stories about his childhood with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Sandra of the home; his mother, Lena Farve of Enville; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Darlene Farve of Ardmore, OK; two daughters, Keri Farve Hartman and Robbie Farve Hartman, both of Ardmore; brother and sister-in-law, James and Phyllis Ingram of Enville; seven grandchildren, Tyler Farve, Brett Farve, Ethan Hartman, Lex Hartman, Josh Hartman, Devin Hartman and Austin Hartman; two great-grandchildren, Caden Hartman and Kinlee Hartman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Farve was preceded in death by his father; brother, Robert F. Ingram; and nieces Mary Ingram Hite and Sheila Ingram. Serving as casket bearers will be Josh Hartman, Ethan Hartman, Tyler Farve, Devin Hartman, Lex Hartman, Brett Farve, Austin Hartman, Darrin Ingram and Phillip Wadlow. Honorary bearers are Clint Ingram, Robert Ingram, Jr., Bobby Ingram, Terry Ingram, James Ingram, Carnes Porter, Gary Brown, Leroy Mose, Curt Ingram, Floyd Ingram, Joe Ben Pruitt, Stan Hicks and Tony Stewart.
