Obituary

Thomas Duckworth Pratt (Ducky) 99, passed away on Tuesday, September 5 2023, in Stillwater Oklahoma.  He was born a leap year baby on February 29th, 1924 to Willie Dorothy Summers Pratt and Joseph Thomas Pratt, Jr. of Oakland Oklahoma. He married the love of his life, Mildred Louise Johnston, on July 3, 1948, and they celebrated their 50th anniversary prior to her passing in 1998. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict and later went to work with the United States Postal Service as a city carrier, walking 16 miles a day, then appointed by Speaker of the House, Carl Albert, as a rural route carrier, retiring in 1986.  After retirement, he spent his time at the horse track, casino, fishing, golfing, panning for gold, spinning tales with his many friends, and generally enjoying himself.  After the passing of his wife Mildred, Ducky moved to Colorado for a bit, lived at Baptist Village in Kingston, then lived the remainder of his life at Christian Villa in Stillwater, OK.

Ducky was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Louise Pratt, brother Lawson Troy Pratt, and parents Willie and JT Pratt.

Survivors include his son Tom (Jennie) Pratt of Stillwater Oklahoma, daughter Kay Pratt of Erie Colorado, grandchildren Mickey (LaDonna) Pratt, Shane (Jodi) Pratt, Ashley (Blake) Weichbrodt, Chad (Jamie) Green, and Will (Brittany) Pratt.  He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson.

The Pratt Family would like to thank Christian Villa of Stillwater Oklahoma for their thoughtfulness, care and love for our father and grandfather over the last several years.  Ducky considered them a part of his family.  I n lieu of flowers, please donate to Christian Villa at 1810 North Washington Street, Stillwater, OK 74075, in Ducky's honor to help them continue their abundant and loving care for others.

The family requests all that knew Ducky to share stories with the family, either in person or on the Watts Funeral Home website.  Dad/Papa Ducky was an interesting, funny, and colorful person and we want to remember and celebrate him. Condolences may be sent to wattsfuneralhome.com.
