Tania Martínez Martínez nació un 4 de septiembre de 1983 en San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Con mucha tristeza anunciamos que nuestra querida Tania, de 40 años, falleció el pasado 3 de noviembre de 2023 en Plano, Texas.

Tania pasó gran parte de su infancia junto a sus padres, Samuel Martínez y Maria Martínez.

Como parte de su formación académica, Tania estudió en la Escuela Intermedia y Elemental Luis Muñoz Rivera.

Luego de graduarse de la Escuela Superior Rosalin C. Martínez, Tania completó un Grado Asociado en Terapia Respiratoria del Centro De Educación Multidisciplinaria (C.E.M. College). Algunos de sus amigos la recuerdan como una mujer que, aunque no pasaba sus más apreciados momentos sentada en la Biblioteca escolar, hacía lo posible por culminar sus etapas escolares.

De igual forma, aseguran al 100% que de lo que más se aseguraba era de que no se metieran o buscaran problemas con ella o con los suyos.

De las varias anécdotas y cuentos que narran algunos de sus familiares y amigos más cercanos, todos concuerdan en que Tania tenía algunas costumbres muy particulares.

Algunos narran que, durante sus años de adolescencia, amaba comer su arroz con habichuelas por separado; pero lo que más le gustaba era majar las habichuelas y comerlas en estilo puree. Así también, su hermano menor Jovannie Martínez, recuerda que mientras ella vivía bajo su mismo techo ella se autodenominó la "secretaria" de la casa, para así poder tener el control total del teléfono inalámbrico del hogar; mientras se aseguraba de ser quien contestaba y otorgaba permisos de quién utilizaría el mismo y por cuánto tiempo podía utilizarlo. Esta última, una característica muy de ella, ¿no creen ustedes? Por otro lado, algo de lo que sí estamos seguros, es de que Tania pasó muchos de sus más divertidos momentos en su juventud con el muy querido por ella, "Filly", amigo con quien algunos aseguran ella adoraba disfrazarse y tomarse fotos.

Uno de los años más preciados por Tania, sin duda alguna, fue el 2002, año en el cual conoció a quien ella con mucho amor y cariño llamaba su "Gordito"; Luis Vázquez Rijos. Luis fue su mejor amigo, compañero y esposo, el amor de su vida y el padre de sus dos bendiciones; Jean Luis Vázquez Martínez y Tanishalee Sofia Vázquez Martínez. El amor de Tania y Luis nació en la ciudad de Río Piedras, San Juan en Puerto Rico. Luis describe el comienzo de esta historia como uno muy especial, pues Tania frecuentaba visitar a una de sus más preciadas amigas Maryjane, quien también era vecina de Luis para aquel entonces. No era casualidad que Tania visitaba a su amiga mucho más de lo pudiéramos imaginarnos, pues algunos amigos nos cuentan que Luis, muy atrevida y jocosamente, gustaba pasearse por las afueras de su apartamento vestido algunas veces solo con un bóxer; esto para atraer las miradas de nuestra muy queridísima Tani Tani. ¡Qué mucho sabían ambos! La primera conversación de ambos se dio uno de sus tantos días de visita, ya que Luis buscaba cualquier excusa para ir a hablar con su vecino y así toparse con Tania en algún momento, hasta que algún día lo logró. Luis narra que luego de esas primeras conversaciones, Tania frecuentaba visitarlo, junto a sus amigas, en su lugar de trabajo, que para aquel era una discoteca llamada "Under 65" donde Luis trabajaba de bartender.

Esta historia de amor fue evolucionando cada día más y más, llena de momentos grandes, llena de emociones y asombrosas experiencias, como la ocurrida un 16 de diciembre de 2003 con la llegada del primogénito de esta gran historia de amor; Jean Luis Vázquez Martínez, nombre que nace a raíz del nombre de su papá "Luis". Seguida, años después, de la llegada de quien hoy es la princesa del hogar; Tanishalee Sofia Vázquez Martínez. Nos narra Luis que el nombre de la princesa del hogar es debido a que Tania quería que su hija tuviera el "Lee" de su nombre. Su segundo nombre, Sofía, nace de un sueño que tuvo Luis durante el embarazo de Tania, y justo después salió la princesa de Disney llamada "Sofía", lo que Luis describió como una señal de la vida. Además, Luis recuerda que este segundo embarazo, aunque fue planificado, fue un poco complicado conseguirlo. Y, entre risas, recuerda los consejos de una de las primas de Tania, quien siempre les recalcaba que tenían que "subir las piernas pa' que eso baje por ahí pa' abajo".

Tania y Luis se mudaron a Oklahoma tras enfrentar grandes retos debido a la situación económica de Puerto Rico. Luis asegura que, en un principio, esta no fue una decisión de la cual Tania estaba muy segura. Aunque poco después, fue nuestra hermosa Tania quien un día decidió que esta era la mejor opción con la que contaban al momento y le informó a Luis que creía que deberían experimentar y probar si Oklahoma era el lugar donde podían ofrecerle a sus dos hijos una mejor calidad de vida. Lo que no sabían ellos en aquel entonces, es que allí encontrarían una familia extendida, así como a otros familiares, quienes les ayudaron a establecerse y dar sus primeros pasos fuera en este nuevo estado. Al pasar de los años, en 2018, lograron obtener su primera propiedad en Marietta, Oklahoma, la cual Tania decoraba y arreglaba como solo ella sabía hacerlo. En esta propiedad, Tania descubrió nuevas pasiones que para muchos jamás serán olvidadas. Como lo fue el comenzar a cocinar y hornear muchas deliciosas recetas, entre ellas sus famosos bizcochos de Tres Leches, de Cumpleaños, entre otros. Además de comenzar a crear algunos platos que muchos de nosotros extrañaremos. Por ejemplo, su carne guisada, su muy delicioso "cielito lindo", el famoso ajo para dar darle ese gusto adicional a las comidas, entre muchos otros platos que se convirtieron en platos especiales, no solo por lo deliciosos que eran, pero también, por el amor y el cariño que nuestra Tania le agregaba.

"Brindo por mí, porque Dios me dejó llegar hasta los 40 y espero que sean muchos más. Brindo por todos ustedes, porque son mi familia. Porque llegamos aquí sin nada y ya todos tenemos nuestras casitas, tenemos todo. Hemos construido muchas cosas. Que sean muchos más para compartir. Y pues, Salud y Vida para todos nosotros pa' seguir aquí en esta bulla. Y pues los quiero mucho". Estas fueron palabras de nuestra amada Tania en su brindis de cumpleaños número 40, que se llevó a cabo en el "porch" de su hogar. Espacio que fue creado, y en parte sugerido por ella, para que ninguno de nosotros le dañáramos su decoración ni sus alfombras, ¡que mucho te vamos a extrañar Tania! Estas palabras que nos llenan a todos de "Salud y Vida" como dice ella. Y ahora más que nunca continuaremos con esta" bulla" para recordarla y mantener su memoria viva y con alegría. Haremos aún más "bulla" escuchando a sus artistas favoritos: Zion, Karol G, Alberto Stylee, y, claro que no podría faltar, una bachata al estilo de Romeo Santos. Y también haremos "bulla" cuando recordemos los "Weekends de Viejos", creados y nombrados así por nuestra Tania, esos weekends donde la rutina era ir al supermercado, a Sam's, Ross y Costco, en compañía de sus amigos más cercanos, como todos unos señores viejitos. Seguiremos recordando tu vida, tu personalidad, tus chistes y tu creatividad. ¡Mantendremos viva tu memoria Tani Tani!

Tania Martínez Martínez was born on September 4, 1983, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Tania, 40 years old, on November 3, 2023, in Plano, Texas.

Tania spent much of her childhood with her parents, Samuel Martínez and Maria Martínez.

As part of her educational background, Tania attended Luis Muñoz Rivera Elementary and Middle School.

After graduating from Rosalin C. Martínez High School, Tania completed an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy at the Multidisciplinary Education Center (C.E.M. College).

Some of her friends remember her as a woman who, despite not spending her most cherished moments at the school library, made every effort to complete all of her educational stages. Similarly, they attest 100% that she made sure no one would cause trouble with her or her loved ones.

Within the various anecdotes and stories told by some of her closest relatives and friends, they all agree that Tania had some very particular habits. Some recount that during her teenage years, she loved to eat her rice and beans separately; however, what she enjoyed most was mashing the beans and eating them in a puree style. Moreover, her younger brother, Jovannie Martínez, recalls that while she lived under the same roof, she dubbed herself the "secretary" of the house to have total control of the home's cordless phone, ensuring she was the one who answered and granted permissions for its use and how long one could use it. The latter, a very characteristic trait of hers, don't you think? On the other hand, one thing we are sure of is that Tania spent many of her most enjoyable moments in her youth with her dear friend "Filly," whom some claim she loved to dress up with and take pictures.

One of the most treasured years for Tania, without a doubt, was 2002, the year she met the man she lovingly called her "Gordito"; Luis Vázquez Rijos. Luis was her best friend, companion and husband, the love of her life, and the father of their two blessings: Jean Luis Vázquez Martínez and Tanishalee Sofia Vázquez Martínez. The love between Tania and Luis began in the city of Río Piedras, San Juan, in Puerto Rico. Luis describes the start of this story as something very special because Tania frequently visited one of her dearest friends, Maryjane, who happened to be a neighbor of Luis at that time. It wasn't a coincidence that Tania visited her friend much more than we could imagine, as some friends tell us that Luis, boldly and playfully, used to stroll outside his apartment sometimes wearing only boxers, aiming to catch the attention of our beloved Tani Tani. If only they knew back then! Their first conversation took place during one of their many visits, as Luis sought any excuse to go talk to his neighbor and eventually cross paths with Tania, which he managed to do one day. Luis recounts that after those initial conversations, Tania often visited him, along with her friends, at his workplace, a nightclub named "Under 65," where Luis worked as a bartender back then.

This love story evolved day by day, filled with significant moments, emotions, and amazing experiences. One of these memorable moments occurred on December 16, 2003, with the arrival of the firstborn of this great love story: Jean Luis Vázquez Martínez, a name derived from his dad's name, "Luis." Followed, years later, by the arrival of the household's princess, Tanishalee Sofia Vázquez Martínez. Luis narrates that the princess's name was chosen by Tania, as she wanted to include the "Lee" from her own name. Her second name, Sofia, arose from a dream Luis had during Tania's pregnancy, and immediately afterward, the Disney princess named "Sofia" appeared, which Luis described as a sign from the universe. Additionally, Luis recalls that this second pregnancy, though planned, was a bit challenging to achieve. Amid laughter, he recalls the advice from one of Tania's cousins, who always emphasized that they had to "lift her legs so that it goes down that way."

Tania and Luis moved to Oklahoma after facing significant challenges due to Puerto Rico's economic situation. Luis states that, initially, this wasn't a decision Tania was entirely on board with. However, not long after, it was our beautiful Tania who one day decided that this was the best option at the time and informed Luis that she believed they should see if Oklahoma could provide a better quality of life for their two children. What they didn't know back then was that they would find an extended family and other relatives there, all of which helped them settle in and take their first steps in this new state. Over the years, in 2018, they managed to acquire their first property in Marietta, Oklahoma, which Tania decorated and organized in her unique way. In this home, Tania discovered new passions that many will never forget. This included starting to cook and bake many delicious recipes, such as her famous Tres Leches, Birthday cakes, among others. She also created some dishes that many of us will miss, like her stewed meat, her delightful "cielito lindo," the famous garlic to add that extra flavor to meals, among many other dishes that became special, not just because they're absolutely delicious, but also due to the love and care that our Tania added to them.

"I toast to myself because God allowed me to turn 40, and I hope for many more years to come. I toast to all of you because you are my family. Because we arrived here with nothing, and now, everyone has their houses, we have everything. We've built many things. May there be many more to share. So, cheers to Health and Life for all of us to keep going in this hustle and bustle. Well, I love you all very much." These were the words of our beloved Tania during her 40th birthday toast, held on the porch of her home. This space was created, and partly suggested by her, so none of us would ruin her decor or carpets. We will miss you a lot, Tania! Her words fill us all with "Health and Life," as she says. Now, more than ever, we'll continue this "hustle and bustle" to remember her and keep her memory alive with joy. We'll make even more "hustle and bustle" listening to her favorite artists: Zion, Karol G, Alberto Stylee, and, of course, a bachata in Romeo Santos' style. We'll also "hustle and bustle" when we remember the "Weekend de Viejitos" (Elder's Weekend) created and named as such by Tania herself, weekends where the routine was going to the supermarket, Sam's, Ross, and Costco, accompanied by her closest friends, just like a group of old folks. We will continue to remember your life, your personality, your jokes, and your creativity. We will keep your memory alive, Tani Tani!
