Tommy Ray "Steve" Matthews, of Marietta, OK, was born on July 5, 1961, in Gainesville, TX . He passed from this life on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at a Sherman, TX hospital at 64 years of age.

Steve married the former Jennifer Jo Stephens on April 16, 1997 in Woodbine, TX.

He had worked as a forklift operator at Flanders in Ardmore, OK. Steve loved watching his favorite teams, the Oklahoma Sooners and the Dallas Cowboys. Steve couldn't wait for the next NASCAR race to come on TV. He enjoyed fishing, sitting in the garage having a beer with his father-in-law Rick, and being around his grandkids.

Those preceding Steve in death are his parents and five sisters.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Jennifer of the home; son, Randall Matthews of Lone Grove, OK; daughters, Paige Matthews and significant other Sedrick Childers of Lone Grove, and Danyel Smith of Oklahoma City, OK; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation is under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Marietta.
