Stella Elizabeth Johns, 86, of Madill, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at her home in Madill. Stella was born December 12, 1924 in Ringling, Oklahoma to the late Ben C. Newcomb and Rosa Victoria Ash Newcomb. She was raised in Ringling and in 1949 moved to Bakersfield, California where Stella married Clifford Gordon Johns on October 12, 1965. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2011. In 1991 she moved to Madill where she lived the rest of her life. In 2000 Stella retired from the Integris Marshall County Medical Center where she took pride in working as a housekeeper and extending a smile and her hand in care for the patients. She kept an immaculate home for her husband and loved her children and grandchildren. Stella took care of 23 children as a foster parent. She was a member of the Oakview Baptist Church and she enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and working puzzles. She is survived by: Sons: Eddie Lee Johns and wife Debra, Madill, Oklahoma Johnny Sparks and wife Laurel, Yreka, California Daughter: Bessie Heck and husband Wendel, Buttonwillow, California Sidney Cole, Napa, California Sister: Mae Gaylor, Marietta, Oklahoma Brother: Jerry Newcomb and wife Alma, Chandler, Oklahoma Multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchilern. Stella was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons; Tom Baugh, James Sparks, 1 daughter; Chris Burnette, Sisters; Sidney Stroud, Janetta Johnson, Marie Smith, Joy Lee, brothers; Ernest Newcomb and Buster Newcomb
