Sharron Ann Watts, 81, of Madill, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2026, in Granbury, Texas. She was born on January 19, 1945, in Sulphur, Oklahoma, to the late Alvis Lee McAffrey and Velma Oleta Hunt McAffrey.
Sharron was raised in Sulphur, where she attended school and graduated with the Class of 1963. On November 2, 1963, she married Marvin Bryant Watts, at the First United Methodist Church in Madill. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and service to their community.
A lifelong learner, Sharron returned to school once her children were older, to pursue her calling in healthcare. She earned her Registered Nurse degree from Murray State College in Tishomingo in 1983. She had a servant’s heart and was deeply committed to caring for others, helping establish hospice services in Madill and later transitioning it to the care of Integris Hospital.
Sharron was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Madill, where she was active in all aspects including the children’s choir, VBS, the youth ministry, Zelma’s Bazaar and a member of the choir. She poured her time and love into her community, serving on the Madill Daycare Board, and the Madill City Library Board. She was a member of Madill Daughters and The Garden Club. Her life was a reflection of kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. At home, she was the heart of her family: a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother. Sharron found joy in attending all of her grandchildren’s activities, spanning from football games, track meets, softball games, cheerleading, dance recitals and livestock shows. She also enjoyed tending to flower beds, traveling to new places, and getting lost in a good book. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and always an open door.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Marvin Bryant Watts; her children, Shannon Watts Newton and husband Nate, M.B. Watts and wife Sarah, and Brad Watts and wife Ashley; in addition her treasured grandchildren include Shelby Newton Wallace and husband Kirk, Tatum Newton Stedman and husband Dawson, Macy Watts, Marvin Bryant Watts III, Ella Watts, and Evan Watts.
She is also survived by her brother, Alvis Lee McAffrey and husband John David McAffrey; and her sisters, Brenda Liston, and Penny Chastain and husband Mike, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Sharron was preceded in death by her parents, Alvis Lee McAffrey and Velma Oleta Hunt McAffrey.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she loved so dearly, and the community she faithfully served. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her caring heart, and the way she made everyone feel like family.
