Scott
Landgraf
November 19, 1948 – August 13, 2024
Billy Scott Landgraf, 75, of Madill, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. He was born on November 19, 1948, in Madill to the late Bill B. Landgraf and Leota Scott Landgraf. Scott was a lifelong resident who deeply cherished his roots in the community.
A proud graduate of Madill High School's class of 1967, Scott pursued higher education at Oklahoma State University, where he earned a master's degree in agronomy. His career began at the Noble Foundation, where he spent 30 years as an Agricultural Specialist before retiring to embrace full time his true passion-farming.
On August 7, 1971, Scott married the love of his life, Janice Ruth Payne, in Lone Grove, Oklahoma. Together, they built a life filled with love, dedication, and family. Scott's work extended beyond his professional life; he was a valued member of numerous boards, including the Ardmore Higher Education Board, BancFirst Board, Alliance Hospital Board, Madill School Board, National Pecan Council, and the Oklahoma Pecan Growers Association.
A devout member of the First Baptist Church in Madill, Scott found joy in his faith, community service, and hobbies. He enjoyed saltwater fishing and took great pride in working with pecans. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Grampy."
Scott is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Janice Landgraf; his sons, Jeff Landgraf and wife Stacy of Madill; Wes Landgraf and wife Mendi of Moore; and Justin Landgraf and wife Tara of Ardmore; and his treasured grandchildren, Lydia and Lauren of Madill, Olivia and Tarah of Moore, and Blair and Kennedy of Ardmore. He also leaves behind his brother, Phillip Landgraf and wife Kathy of Madill, and his sister, Linda Jones of Ardmore, along with nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, his son Kevin Landgraf, his brother-in-law Bobby Jones, and nephew Logan Smith. Scott's legacy of love, dedication, and service will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
