Rudy Lee
Watson
September 30, 1943 – April 20, 2026
On April 20, 2026, Rudy Lee Watson, 82, closed his eyes and woke up in heaven. He was ready to join his loved ones that were waiting to welcome him home. He will be missed greatly by a host of family and friends. He had some very special nieces and nephews. We want to acknowledge some of his best friends, David Milam, Cherokee Brewer, and Steve Snuggs.
Join us as we remember his journey on this Earth.
He made his appearance on September 30, 1943. His parents were Cecil Thomas (Pete) and Ozelle Watson. His parents greeted him in heaven along with his older brothers, "Demp" Cecil Watson Jr. and Bill Watson. We are sure his older sisters were eagerly waiting for him as well, Frances Perry, Peggy Denison and Charlene Watson. His fishing buddies (Aka brother's-in- law) were waiting with their poles, Hubert Perry, Pete Denison, Dale Pearman, and Jack Hill. His baby sister, Donna Kay Hill, is still walking this earth with us.
Little did his parents know what a whirl wind hit the ground. He lived to be ornery, and he liked to pick at people and laugh. He loved adventure in his younger years. He was up for a challenge riding a bull, hunting with his friends, and climbing a tree to knock down a racoon. His love for hunting and fishing stayed with him until his last breath. Boy, did he have stories to tell.
Rudy graduated from Thackerville, OK High School in 1962. He continued riding bulls until he met and married his first wife, Sandra Huddleston. They had two girls, Rudene Horner and Shandy Clark. From there, their family grew. During their time together, Rudy worked as a carpenter, built and pastored a church, and worked at Weber Aircraft. He worked on the Assembly line, as an inspector, and at several other positions for over twenty-four years. He was known to be a super likable person who smiled easily and was very dedicated to his work at Weber Aircraft.
He was very proud of his craftsmanship and commitment to whatever he did. He gave his best efforts in anything he did, and he took pride in helping others whenever he could. He took his girls hunting, fishing, and trapping. There may have been a few horse rides there too.
When he and Sandra parted ways, he later married Sondra Joyce Shipman. He gained two stepdaughters, Jennifer Hardwyke and Amber Burke. He and Sandy built their home in Gainesville, TX. When Sandy passed from this world, Rudy sold his house and moved to Saint Jo, TX on his grandson's property, to be closer to his family. He lived in Saint Jo for the last eleven years. He loved to work on the farm, haul hay, mow, and hunt. Often, he would hunt dogs with his grandson Jay.
He was known as Paw Hoot to his grandkids and great-grandkids, and some called him Paw Paw. Jay Dee and Shandy Clark had three of his grandkids, Jay Clark, wife Rebecca Clark, Shaden Clark, wife Kate Clark, and TayCee Clark. Rudene had two children, Jeffrey Horner, wife, Monica Horner, and Shae Schmidlkofer, husband, Derek Schmidlkofer. Jay and Rebecca have three children, Aubree, Hunter, and Kason Clark. Shaden and Kate Clark have four children, Oliver, Jackson, Lydia and AJ Clark. TayCee Clark has two girls, Jentry and Raelynn Clark. Jeffrey and Monica have three children, Skyler, Easton, and Brody.
His additional grandchildren are Brittany, Holden, and Brooklyn. He was close to Brittany's children, Joshua and Christopher.
We will remember Rudy's life, celebrate his character, and say, "see ya later" on Friday, April 24, 2026 at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home in Marietta, OK. The family visitation will start at 1PM with the funeral at 2 PM. He will be buried in the Lakeview Cemetery there in Marietta along with his family and wife.
Casket bearers are Jaydee Clark, Jay Clark, Shaden Clark, Derek Schmidlkofer, Josh Koelzer, and Greg Shaw. Honorary bearers are Jeffrey Horner, David Milam, Steve Scruggs, Mark Denison, Jerry Perry, Greg Watson, Jody Pearman, Cody Pearman, and Cherokee Brewer.
