Rosalie Landgraf Eldridge of Madill, Oklahoma passed away from this life on January 30, 2025. She was born May 9, 1942, in Bethel Township, Oklahoma to Roy Lee Landgraf and Tennie Rutherford Landgraf. Rosalie grew up in the Bethel Community and lived her entire life in Marshall County. She graduated from Madill High School in 1960. She was a member of Enos Church of Christ. Rosalie was the devoted wife of James Terry Eldridge for 64 years. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter, warmth, and cherished memories.
Rosalie was a proud and loving mother to her four children: Tonya Hector and her husband Greg of Nampa, Idaho; Freda Moore and her husband Craig of Madill, Oklahoma; and James Wesley Eldridge and Lisa Scott of Madill, Oklahoma, and Kathleen and Frank Chensky, Waxahanchie, Texas. Her children were the joy of her life. She was the grandmother to 14 grandchildren: Justin Eppler, Bryan Eppler, Ethan Moore, Ty Moore, Trey Moore, Cole Moore, Jacob Moore, Rebecca Summers, Megan Lollis, Devin Muncrief, Jessy Armstrong, Rachel Townsend, Leah Hector, Grace Strawmatt. She also had 13 and counting great grandchildren. She is Survived by her sisters Lydia Gumm of Fairview, TX and Mergie Farr of Gainesville, Texas.
Rosalie retired after 28 years of dedicated work at the Clint Williams Peanut Company in Madill, Oklahoma. Rosalie's hands were skilled in many crafts. She was a seasoned traveler, genealogist, author, and master seamstress. She made many clothes for her friend's, blankets for her grandchildren, curtains, and costumes for the circus. Her talents didn't end there. With a keen eye for detail, she also crafted spaces as an architect, transforming dreams into reality with every blueprint she drew.
Her garden was a reflection of her nurturing spirit—every plant thrived under her care, much like the people she loved. Rosalie was a believer in good food. She grew numerous gardens, fed her family and many community members. In the kitchen, Rosalie was nothing short of a culinary artist. She had a magical ability to turn simple ingredients into gourmet feasts, leaving everyone at the table craving more.
Rosalie was good at just about anything she set her mind to. Her tenacity and intelligence saw her through countless challenges, always emerging stronger and wiser. Rosalie Eldridge was not just a seamstress, an architect, a mother, a wife, a friend, a gardener, or a chef. She was a remarkable woman whose spirit and love enriched the world around her. Her story is one of boundless talents and a heart full of love, remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
