Obituary

Ronald Thomas Sieger, 81, of Shady Dale, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. His passing marked the end of a life filled with hard work, adventure, laughter, and, above all, love for his family.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026, in the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Marietta, OK.

Ronald began this life on January 4, 1945, in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Oscar and Dolores (Felix) Seger. He grew up and attended school in Gainesville, TX, and after completing his education, Ronald entered the workforce. He found his calling as a plumber and took great pride in working alongside his family in the family business. Ronald was a hardworking man who understood the value of providing for those he loved and taking pride in a job well done.

On July 30, 1994, Ronald married the love of his life, Mary Polk, at a ceremony in Walnut Bend, TX. Together, they shared more than 32 years of marriage, building a life filled with memories, family, and countless adventures.

Ronald was an outdoorsman at heart. He loved camping and was happy just about anywhere he could pitch a tent and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. Fishing was one of his greatest passions, and he and Mary spent many days sitting on the river, enjoying the peace and quiet and waiting for the next bite. As his health eventually made it difficult for him to climb in and out of the boat, the memories they made on the water remained among the many treasures of their life together.

When the weekend came, Ronald was ready to dance. Dancing was one of his favorite pastimes, and he loved the fun and fellowship that came with it. But perhaps one of Ronald’s greatest joys was being a grandfather. He especially loved aggravating his grandchildren, and his grandson Trevor knew that Ronald could always be counted on for a little teasing and a lot of laughter. Those playful moments were simply Ronald’s way of showing his love, and the memories he created with his grandchildren will be treasured for generations.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Dolores; stepson, Wayne Choate; his brother, T.D. Sieger; and his sister, Debbie Sieger.

Those left to cherish Ronald’s memory include his beloved wife, Mary Sieger; son, Randy Sieger; daughter, Tammy Sieger-Bullard; stepsons, James Hall and Chris Choate; stepdaughter, Levon Reichert and husband, Dennis; seven grandsons; eight granddaughters; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandsons, with another great-grandson on the way; and six great-great-granddaughters; and one brother, L.J. Sieger. He is also survived by his adopted close family members, Jane Billy and Keenan Billy and wife Sylvia.

Honorary bearers are Travis Choate, Ben and Gloria Willis, Kyle Sieger, Chad Sieger, and Nashoba Choate.
