Obituary

Ronald Dean Henson 79, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2025, at his home in Powell, Oklahoma. He was born on December 17, 1945, in Madill, Oklahoma, to the late Robert Henson and Pansy Irene Herndon Henson.  Ronald grew up in the Fobb and Willis, Oklahoma areas and graduated from Kingston High School. He later attended Murray State College in Tishomingo, Oklahoma and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma. Ronald married Patsy Kay Hightower on July 31, 1980, in New Mexico.  He was a dedicated beekeeper for over 40 years, bred and raised Angus cattle, and developed a large orchard producing apples, peaches, pears, plums, nectarines, blackberries, grapes, and figs. He was a member of Powell Church of Christ. And his work and hobbies reflected his quiet strength, wisdom, and care for God's creation.

He is survived by:

Stephen Craig Henson and wife Beverly, Wylie, Texas

Daniel Henson and wife Kim, Conestoga, Pennsylvania

Paula Reshell Henson and husband Robert Whitmire, Norman, Oklahoma

Brother:           Mark Lynn Henson and wife Jeanne, Ardmore, Oklahoma

12 grandchildren:        Cody, Ashley, Elizabeth, Nia, Ronnie, Justin, Jordan, Nathan, Dylan, Taylor, Abigail,

and Zachary

9 Great-grandchildren: Lucas, Emily, Chloe, Benjamin, Ava, Da Shawn, Maylia, Annalyse, and Evelyn

He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Donald Gene Henson.

Casket Bearers: Cody Witcher, Nathan Henson, Dylan Henson, Zachary Henson, Justin Henson, and Jordan Henson.
