Obituary

Ronald Wayne Green was born July 30, 1939, in Caddo Oklahoma to the late Edd and Sylvia Green.  He peacefully entered the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on January 19, 2025 at Medical City Decatur after a brief battle with cancer.  Ron attended school in Caddo Ok, and moved with his family later to Madill Ok. Ron served in the United States Army and fought two tours in Viet Nam, where he was wounded and received the "Purple Heart".  Ron retired in 1978 at the rank of E-7, Sargeant First Class.  In May of 2024, Ron was so proud to be a part of the Honor Flight 54 and travel to Washington DC with his grandson and many other veterans.  Ron enjoyed square dancing for many years and volunteering at the Texas Rice Festival in Winnie Texas, as well as being active in his local Wise County, VA chapter.

Ron enjoyed driving and traveling even up into his early 80's, most recently to Britton Hill, Fl, and to Yellowstone and the Redwood National State Park.  Ron's favorite pastime was being with his family, he attended every Green/Culbreath family reunion each year, traveled out of state to spend time with cousins in NC and LA, as well as his children and grandchildren in TN, CO, and WY. When at home in Texas, he spent time with his sister, nieces, nephews and their families.
