Roger Lewis Shaw, 83, of Madill, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the hospital in Madill. He was born on December 8, 1927 to John C. Shaw and Fay Markle Shaw in Spring Valley, Minnesota. Roger was raised in Preston, Minnesota and later joined the United States Army where he served for 28 years. He served during the Korean War where he was a POW and had 18 years of overseas duty. Roger was awarded the Army Occ Medal (Japan), Korean Svc Medal (w/1BZ Star), UN Svc Medal, Expert Badge (Rifle), Nat Def Svc Medal, ROK Pres Unit Cit, Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), National Defense Service Medal W/OLC, Good Conduct Medal Fourth Award and the Combat Infantryman Badge. He was married to Laura Mae Young for 26 years. Roger retired in 1968 to Wykoff, Minnesota and later moved to Madill in 1973. He enjoyed his family and grandchildren. He is survived by: Children: Rocky Shaw and wife Georgia, Shawnee, OK Deeann Jensen and husband Jack, Allen, OK Laurie Polster and husband Rodney, Oakland, OK Lisa Shaw, Oklahoma City, OK Thomas Shaw, Carrolton, TX 6 Grandchildren: Roxanne, Holly, Dustin, Katherine, Roddy and Randall 7 Great Grandchildren: Adison, Gracie, Serenity, Morgan, Dylanee, Shaylee and Salacius Sister-in-law: Faith Shaw, Truth or Consequences, NM Roger was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers; Melvin, Clyde, Cyrus and LaVern Shaw and 3 sisters; Frances Hanson, Ruby House and Jean Henke.
