Obituary

Rodney Delbert Lang, of Ardmore, OK, was born on September 25, 1957, in Gainesville, TX, to Mac Delbert Lang and Celestine Gray. He passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 68.

Rodney grew up in Texas graduating from Monahans High School. Later he became a carpenter, where he worked as a residential contractor building and working on many custom homes.

He married the former Essie Louise Ladner on September 19, 1981, in Marietta, OK.

Rodney had spent most of his life in southern Oklahoma, and enjoyed fishing, golfing, collecting knives, gardening and especially doing some creative carpentry in his shop.

Preceding Rodney in death is his father; brother, Brent Meeker; sister, Linda Hoskinson; and special nieces, Raini and Reaven Wilson.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Essie of the home; son, Taylor Lang of Ardmore; daughter, Lacie Kretzschmar and husband Dustin of Lone Grove, OK; grandchildren, Aubrielle Kretzschmar, Kastin Kretzschmar, Jaiden Glick, Ranen Glick, Ella Lang and Rue Lang; mother, Celestine Ritter and husband Glen of Ardmore; stepmother, Joy Lang of Ardmore; brother, Chad Carrol of Ardmore; sisters, Rhonda Kay Wilson and husband Ricky of Giddings, TX, Gena Spangler and husband Mike of Lone Grove, and Debbie Conley of Ardmore; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 14, at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Johnny Tynes officiating. Interment to follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta. A time of visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home.

Casket bearers will be Warren Sanders, Jeff Miller, Dustin Kretzschmar, Jimmy Gail Tynes, Mike Morton, Ricky Wilson, Oscar Turman, and Rocky Bearden.
