Richard Shinn of Burneyville, OK, was born July 6, 1951, in Love County, OK, the son of Eugene and Frances Noblitt Shinn. He passed away at his residence Friday, January 4, 2008, at the age of 56. A resident of Love County most of his life, Mr. Shinn graduated from Turner High School in 1969 and received an Associate Degree from Cooke County College, Gainesville, TX, in 1971. He and Barbara Sue Collins were married November 26, 1973, in Gainesville. An employee of the Marietta Cookie Factory for 34 years, Mr. Shinn held several positions including truck dispatcher, sanitation department as well as night shift supervisor. Most recently he had been taking care of his wife of 34 years. His hobbies were coon hunting and raising cattle and coon dogs. Mr. Shinn was a member of the Eastman Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his father, Eugene Shinn; paternal grandparents, Bill and Gracie Shinn; maternal grandparents, Leonard and Lizzie Noblitt; and an aunt, Alma Jean Shinn.
