Perry Alan
"P.A." Hartman
February 8, 1936 – February 14, 2026
P.A. began this life on February 8, 1936, in Leon, the son of Perry Franklin "Pug" and Hazel Juanita (Brown) Hartman. He was the eldest of four children. P.A. graduated from Leon High School with the Class of 1954. After graduating, he immediately joined the labor force working in the oilfield doing pipeline construction.
On August 18, 1956, P.A. married the love of his life, Reba Faye Reed, at a ceremony in Gainesville, TX. To this union they were blessed with three children, Tony, Paul, and Karyn. They celebrated 53 years, 11 months, and 15 days together before Reba passed in August of 2010.
P.A. served his country in the United States Army from 1958 through 1960. He was stationed at Camp Casey in Korea. After returning from the military, P.A. went back to work on pipeline construction across the southern United States with Reba in tow and adding to their family along the way. They returned to Leon in 1969, when P.A. began driving a school bus for Turner. During this time, he also established a registered Spotted Poland China program and helped with local 4H and FFA groups in the Oklahoma and North Texas area. P.A. also served as a member of the Love County Fair Board. In the mid 1980's, P.A. returned to the workforce working as a roustabout and pumper for the L.E. Jones Production Co.
In the 1990's, P.A. enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. He also spent countless hours attending or traveling to their many sporting activities across the area. He was very proud of his grandchildren and delighted in the fact that he was able to meet and play with his great-grandchildren and tell Mama about them every night before he went to sleep. P.A. had a fantastic day on Sunday, February 8th as he celebrated his 90th birthday surrounded by his family.
P.A. is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of more than 53 years, Reba; a brother, Thomas Hartman; and a brother-in-law, Jim Shaw.
Those left to cherish his memory are his three children, Tony Hartman and wife Susan of Wilson, OK, Paul Hartman of Leon, and Karyn Hamilton and husband Mike of Anna, TX; grandchildren, Chassie and husband Kyle of Rock Hill, SC, Kourtney and husband Denver of Dallas, TX, Tanner and wife Kassidy of Wilson, Karlie and husband Lane of Healdton, OK, and Levi and wife Hannah of Ardmore, OK; and great-grandchildren, Brooks, Parker, Landry, Paisley, and Owen.
