Peggy Lee Connel, 69, of Madill, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the Marshall County Medical Center in Madill. She was born on February 28, 1941 in Atoka, Oklahoma to the late Luther Roberts and Ruby Cole Roberts. Peggy was raised in Grandfield, Oklahoma where she graduated high school. She married Billy Joe (B. J.) Connel on August 13, 1959 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1985. Peggy lived in Iowa, Missouri and in 1979 she moved to Madill where she lived the rest of her life. She worked for several years at the Marshall County Hospital as a receiving clerk and later as a receptionist at the Baptist Children's home in Kingston. Peggy was a member of the Oakview Baptist Church in Oakland and the VFW ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and signing for the deaf. Peggy has signed in courts and for Billy Graham's crusade in Burlington, Iowa and she has been honored with the "Talking Hands" award. Her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren. J. Connel Jr. and wife Charlotte, Madill, Oklahoma Claude Richard Connel, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 17 Grandchildren 7 Great Grandchildren 1 Sister: Joyce Bland, California Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, husband; B. J. Connel, 2 brothers; Danny Ray Roberts and Raymond Cole and 1 sister; Dorothy Moore.
