Pedro
Fernandez
August 22, 1942 – March 15, 2026
Pedro began this life on August 22, 1942, in Rio Grande, Zacatecas, Mexico the son of Alcario and Maxima (Gomez) Fernandez. He married Maria Amparo on May 2, 1961, in Rio Grande. In 1990, Pedro and Maria moved from Mexico to Marietta. Maria passed away in September of 2013, ending more than 52 married years together.
Pedro was a hardworking family-oriented man who seemed to never have a bad day. His positive attitude and resourcefulness insured him a title as the "go to" man whenever a friend or family member had a problem or needed something fixed. Pedro could fix anything and seemed to always have a part or some other item stored away that could resolve the issue.
Pedro worked as a mixer at the Cookie Factory from 1991 until 2004. He then went to work in housekeeping at Winstar. In all his loyal working years, he never missed a day of work. When he wasn't working, Pedro loved to eat. Eating was almost a passion, but perhaps the one thing he was most passionate about was spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Pedro was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Maria; and a daughter, Alicia Fernandez. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Pedro Fernandez and wife Rachel of Marietta, Alonso Fernandez and wife Judy of Marietta, Fernando Fernandez and wife Aurora of Mexico, Alvaro Fernandez and wife Claudia of Tijuana, Mexico, Samuel Fernandez and wife Betty of Tijuana; daughters, Irma Fernandez and husband Javier Cruz of Tijuana, and Amparo Fernandez of Shreveport, LA; 27 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Manuel Hernandez, Pedro Fernandez, Jr., Andrew Fernandez, Martin Fernandez, Eloy Gonzalez, and Justin Hernandez.
