Orland Leoford Davis Jr. of Ardmore, OK, was born on May 18, 1938, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Orland Leoford Davis Sr. and Mary Emogene (Herron) Davis. He passed from this life at his home in Ardmore on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the age of 88.

Orland graduated from U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City in 1957. He later enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he honorably served for eight and a half years, attaining the rank of Airman First Class. During his military career, he specialized in radio repair, a skill that became a lifelong passion. He was awarded the Air Force Longevity Service Award and the Good Conduct Medal in recognition of his faithful service.

On May 8, 1965, Orland married the love of his life, the former Berry Gene Doss, in Oklahoma City. Together they built a loving home and raised three children. Following his military career, Orland continued working with electronics, taking a position with ITT in Mississippi. After his 10-year service with ITT, the family relocated to Humboldt, TN where he raised his family and continued his career with electronics. In 1987 the family moved back home to Oklahoma where he took a position with XY Resources specializing in maintenance. Orland later worked for Ditch Witch, where he retired as an electrical maintenance operator after many years of dedicated service. Orland enjoyed tinkering with electronics and could often be found repairing or improving almost anything electrical. His knowledge, work ethic, and willingness to help others will be remembered by all who knew him. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 61 years, Berry Gene Davis of the home; sons, David Ray Davis and wife Cindy of Hollis, OK, and Carry James Davis of Ardmore; daughter, Dusti Dawyn Inman and husband Zack of Ardmore; grandchildren, Connor Davis, Xander Davis, and Robert Inman; along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2026, at the Seaman First Class Billy Turner Veterans Cemetery in Ardmore.

Serving as casket bearers will be David Davis, Carry Davis, Zack Inman, Robert Inman, Xander Davis, and Jerry Davis. Honorary casket bearers will be members of the Patriot Guard, the American Legion, and the United States Air Force.
