Oleta Faye
"Sis" Foster
April 8, 1949 – March 6, 2025
Oleta began this life on April 8, 1949, in Leon, the daughter of Raymond and Helen (Fox) Caldwell. She attended school in Leon and graduated with the Class of 1967. On April 24, 1982, Oleta married Steve Foster. The two spent more than 21 years together before Steve's passing in May of 2003.
Oleta worked as a waitress at the Round House Café in Marietta for several years and then later started work for the Marietta Pants Factory. She worked there in several different positions throughout the years and retired as a stockroom supervisor after spending more than 20 years with the company. In her younger years, Oleta loved to go dancing with Steve and listen to him play his music. Steve was her favorite, but George Jones was a close second. Anyone who knew Oleta, knew she liked to talk. She loved to talk on the phone to friends but considered it a special treat when she could get a family member on the other end of the line. Oleta also spent countless hours gardening and was known to kick back from time to time and watch an episode of Law & Order SVU or The Crisley's.
Oleta was preceded in death by her husband Steve; parents, Raymond and Helen; sisters, Elaine Jones and Nita Clough; nephew, Bo Clough; and great niece, Shelbi Kirk. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Chris Foster and wife Pamelia of Springtown, TX; grandchildren, Cole Foster of Marietta and Wyatt Foster of Gainesville, TX; nieces, Loree Jones of Marietta and Misti Kirk of Marietta; nephew, Stacy Clough and wife Missie of Ringling, OK; numerous great nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Martha Culver of Ardmore, OK.
Casket bearers for Oleta's service will be Brad Kirk, Tucker Kirk, Skyler Guerrero, Colton Clough, Jaden Clough, and Mason Clough. Honorary bearers are Wyatt Foster, Hunter Clough, and Clay Clough.
