Obituary

Mildred Pearl (Shackelford) Mink, 91 of Buncombe Creek, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at her home.  She was born March 21, 1933 in Stratford, Oklahoma to the late Charles F. Shackelford and Pearl (Teel) Shackelford.  Mildred was raised in the Stratford, Oklahoma area. She married Doyle J. Mink on September 3, 1949, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. In her earlier years she worked as a beauty operator and nurse's aide. Mildred and Doyle owned and operated Suburban Lanes bowling alley in Sulphur for around 15 years. Many of her younger patrons compassionately referred to her as "Mama Mink" while her grandchildren & great grandchildren referred to her as "Nana". Upon selling the business and retiring, they moved to the Lake Texoma area. Mildred was affiliated with the Church of Christ in her youth. She enjoyed playing card games, bowling, fishing, hand-quilting, bingo and later in life, her many trips to the casino.

She is survived by:

She was proceeded in death by: her parents, five brothers, four sisters, husband Doyle J. Mink, son Gary D. Mink and grandson Creston Barnes.
