Funeral services for Memphis James "Men-Men" Lemons, 6, of Marietta, OK will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Marietta Church of Christ with Zack King officiating. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation services, Marietta. A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday. Memphis' favorite color was blue and in honor of his memory, please wear blue.
Memphis was born on March 7, 2018 in Fayetteville, NC to Morgan Elizabeth Lemons. Memphis passed away April 27, 2024, in Marietta following a tragic accident.
Memphis was raised by his loving mawme/grandmother, Laurie Lemons and mother, Morgan. He attended Fundamentals Therapy Center and kindergarten with Vprep of Oklahoma. He looked forward to attending school and the daily car rides with his memaw and papaw, Eyvonna and Clifton "Bud" Lemons. Memphis loved his teachers, spending time with his friends, and learning new things.
Memphis was a vibrant and bright boy. He loved playing with legos and always thought the directions they provided with the lego sets were incorrect, and he would rebuild it better. Memphis had a connection with Pokémon, and he called them his "babies". He enjoyed being outdoors, playing in his sandbox, and picking flowers. Memphis was a great hunter and collector of bugs. One of his favorite pastimes was going to the zoo, the aquarium, and the ocean. Memphis loved to see all the animals and was mesmerized by the water.
Memphis was preceded in death by his great-great-grandparents, Jack and Willie "Claudell" Higgins and C.H. "Bud" and Ora Lemons.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Morgan Lemons of Port Charlotte, FL; mawme/grandmother, Laurie Lemons of the home; memaw and papaw, Eyvonna and Bud Lemons of Marietta; uncle Jim and aunt Mary Lemons of Marietta; uncle Michael Lemons and Brandee of the Falconhead Community in Burneyville, OK; cousins, Noah Lemons, Madison Lemons, Savannah Lemons, Will Lemons, T.J. Krohn, Madlyn Krohn, Maisie Krohn, Sevy Jack Johnson, Madison Shaffer, Cameron Wiggins, and Jordan "JoJo" Wiggins; and numerous aunts, uncles and other family members.
Casket bearers are Jim Lemons, Michael Lemons, Kyler Williams, Ryker Baughman, Eric Shiver, and Adrian Paz. Honorary bearers are William Lemons, Cameron Wiggins, Jordan Wiggins, Becky Renfro, Delona Walker, and all the friends and staff at the Fundamentals Therapy Center.
