Melvin Lesley Busby known to family and friends as "Les", 83 of Kingston, Oklahoma passed away Friday, October 1, 2010 at his home in Kingston. He was born to the late Thomas Lee and Omalee Sorrow Busby, on July 28, 1927 in Dye Mound, Texas. Les was raised in Montague County, Texas and later joined the United States Army where he served during the Korean war as a Military Police Officer and Cook. He married Virginia Kathryn Burch in May 3, 1961 in Pampa, Texas. Les worked in the oil field for Gary Drilling for 30 years. He also owned and operated several restaurants over the years. He enjoyed fishing, shooting guns and visiting with employees and customers of the local gas station convenience store called Dark Corner. The people of Dark Corner called him Lester and he never told them any different. Les was a member of the Kingston Church of Christ. Les is survived by: His wife: Virginia Kathryn Busby, of Kingston Son: Rodney Busby, Log Cabin, Texas Daughters: Cathy Patty, Bakersfield, California Leslie Miller, Bakersfield, California Carolyn Hogan, Gainesville, Texas Lougene Nipper, Kentucky Charlotte Fluellen, Richardson, Texas Sisters: Jimmie Ruth Golightly, Denison, Texas Betty Brewer, Kaufman, Texas 22 Grandchildren Numerous Great Grandchildren Les was preceded in death by his Parents, 2 Daughters Melba Hughes and Jenny Hixon; brother Thomas Estee Busby and sister Patricia Loudamy.
