Mary Ann (Danner) Blakely of Madill, OK passed from this life on November 18, 2024. She was born June 9, 1935 in Madill to Marion and Lucille Danner.
Mary Ann grew up in Madill and graduated from Madill High School in 1953. Upon graduating, she attended Draughon's Practical Business College in Oklahoma City. Following her graduation from Draughon's, she accepted a job as a receptionist with Colvert's Dairy in Ardmore. After two years at Colvert's, she accepted a position in the bookkeeping department at the Madill National Bank. She later served as secretary to bank President Mr. Marvin Bryant, teller, Assistant Cashier and at the time of her retirement in 1981, she was Assistant Vice-President in charge of Certificate of Deposits.
In October 1953, Mary Ann met Doyle Blakely beginning a long friendship and courtship, marrying on September 1, 1956. They made their home in Madill for all of their 66+ years of marriage. Mary Ann and Doyle were active in several Madill civic and school parent organizations. Their interests centered on their church, First Baptist Church of Madill, where they were active for 60+ years.
Mary Ann is survived by, son, Danny and his wife Melanie of Crowley, TX, grandson, Brian and his wife Amanda of Benbrook, TX, granddaughter, Ashley Kimble and her husband Carter of Round Rock, TX and great-granddaughters, Maggie, June and Clara Kimble and Bridget Blakely. In addition, she is survived by sister, Peggy Martin of Rogers, AR, sister-in-law Doris Turner of Madill, nieces, Jeri Lee Kuberich, Kim Scott, Nancy Reznicek, Jamie Dyer, Kelli Stacy, Gail Wehmeyer and nephews Mike Dickson, David Danner and Dustin Danner. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, James and Mark Danner, sister Bobbie Harris, brother-in-law Jerry Martin and sister-in-law Dayna Littleton.
Mary Ann's legacy of love, kindness and friendship will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She touched countless lives and will be forever remembered.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Sue and Roberta of Heaven-sent Caregivers who provided companionship and cared so much for Mom and to the staff of Elara Caring Hospice Care who provided compassion and support during Mom's final weeks.
