Marion Rose Flaherty of Burneyville, OK, was born on December 13, 1929, in Philadelphia, PA, to Vincenzio Anthony and Rose (Marino) LaGrotta. She passed from this life on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at her Burneyville residence at the age of 96.

Marion married George E. Flaherty in Philadelphia on June 4, 1949. They later owned and operated a flower shop in Secane, PA, named "A New Touch Florist". They eventually moved to Love County in Oklahoma in 1998.

Marion had a knack for flowers and was often helping her daughter with her garden nursery. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and was a Cub Scout Leader for Pack 34 out of Eastman Baptist Church, where she was also a member. Marion's greatest passion was being a "Pink Lady" at Mercy Health Love County with the Ladies Auxiliary, which she faithfully served from June of 2011 until November of 2020.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George E. Flaherty and sister-in-law, Dorothy Gorman.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, George M. Flaherty of Aston, PA, and Denise Balog and husband Ronald J. of Burneyville; grandchildren, Renee Cregan and husband Dan, George A. Flaherty and wife Cassidy, Michael V. Flaherty and wife Kristen, Vincent A. Flaherty and wife Katherine, and Marcus Balog; great-grandchildren, Riley, Titus and OnaLeigh Cregan, George, Daisy, Jordan Mary and Nathan Flaherty; nieces, Katherine A. Gorman, Lois Besson, Maryann Medori Pizzola, and List McKeeby; and special friends, Rhedonna and Phillip Ralls.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, December 29, 2025, 2:00 P.M. at the Eastman Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Eastman Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home in Marietta.

Serving as casket bearers will be David Perry, Thomas Hicks, Crook Burton, Cutter Burton, Chance Tynes and Allen Hicks. Honorary casket bearers will be George M. Flaherty, George A. Flaherty, Michael Flaherty, Vincent Flaherty, Tom Thompson, Rhedonna Ralls, Katherine Gorman, and Jamie Roberts.
