Mario Castañeda Rueda of Marietta, OK, was born on May 12, 1956, in Ojo de Agua, Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico to Andres and Maria Guadalupe (Rueda) Castañeda. He died Friday, September 22, in the Ardmore, OK hospital at the age of 67.

Mario was raised and educated in Mexico, and he later married the former Victoria Barrientos on May 31, 1975, in Col Villa Insurgentes, Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico.

Mario was a farmer, a rancher, and he had a passion for his game fowl. He also loved soccer, watching action movies, professional wrestling, boxing, music and dancing. He especially loved spending time with all his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Emilia.

Those left to cherish Mario's memory are his wife, Victoria Barrientos de Castañeda of the home; daughters, Yesenia Sanchez and husband Jose of Marietta, Yuridia Castañeda and husband Macario Perez of Wayne, OK, and Viki Castañeda of Marietta; six grandchildren; brothers, Severo Castañeda and wife Andrea of Mexico, and Pedro Castañeda and wife Maria of Monett, MO; sisters, Maria Castañeda, Asuncion Castañeda, Maria Santos Castañeda, Rosa Castañeda, Ester Castañeda, Luisa Castañeda and Gloria Castañeda, all of Mexico.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 26, at 2:00 P.M. at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Marietta with Father Raul Sanchez officiating. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta. The visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Monday at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Marietta.

Casket bearers will be members of the family.
