Marie Herndon Millican, age 95, of Madill, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2024. She was born on January 24, 1929, in Buffalo, Oklahoma, to the late John Richard Braudrick and Sarah Elizabeth Morris Braudrick.

Marie spent her early years in Powell, Oklahoma, until the age of 16, when she embarked on a journey that would take her to Texas in 1970. In 2022, she returned to Marshall County, where she spent the remainder of her days. Marie dedicated much of her life to managing apartments, food and beverage industries including the Dallas Cowboys Club showcasing her dedication and work ethic.

On April 20, 1944, Marie married Herbert Laymon Herndon in Powell, Oklahoma, marking the beginning of a loving partnership. Her beloved husband preceded her in death on December 2, 1957. Marie was a cherished member of the Kingston Church of Christ, finding solace and community in her faith.

Marie had a green thumb and found great joy in gardening. She also cherished the time spent with her grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter.

Marie is survived by her two sons, Richard Herndon and Randall Herndon, both residing in Kingston, Oklahoma, and her two daughters, Shirley Marie Gates of Kingston, Oklahoma, and Betty Rike of Rockwall, Texas. Her legacy lives on through her 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by six sisters, three brothers, her son Ronnie Herndon, and her daughter Rita Fife. Marie's memory will forever be cherished by her family and all who knew her.
