Margaret Marie Fountain 81, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Highland Park Nursing Home in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She was born on September 17, 1944, in Madill, Oklahoma, to the late Tony Berry Matney and Opal Juanita Golden Matney. Margaret married James Fountain on October 27, 1967, in Madill. They shared many years together before his passing on December 12, 2009. She was raised in Madill and graduated from Madill High School in 1962. After marriage, she moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma where she lived most of her life. Margaret devoted herself to caring for her home and family and spent most of her life as a housewife. She was affiliated with a non-denominational church and lived her life with quiet faith and kindness. Margaret enjoyed simple pleasures—fishing, playing dominoes, and embroidery brought her joy throughout the years.
