Obituary

Madge Marie Mitchell, 91 of Madill, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at her residence in Madill. She was born on December 29, 1921 in Tribbey, Oklahoma to the late Robert Martin Fowler and Lois Ann Atwood Fowler. Madge was raised in Tribbey and graduated from Tribbey High School. She later attended Murray State College, East Central University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in teaching. Madge married Paul L. Mitchell on December 26, 1949 in Van Buren, Arkansas. She taught at Coalgate and Ardmore schools and later lived in Elk City, Edmond and Ardmore before moving to Madill in 1997. Madge was a member of the Madill Church of Christ and she held many offices with the Tribbey Alumni, served as Secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary in Madill. She was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi, Oklahoma City and Society of Petroleum Engineer wives. She enjoyed sewing, genealogy, reading and writing. She was the author of three books titled "The Story of Pa" "The Story of Tribbey" and "The Vances So Ardently Do They Cleave". Her kids and grandchildren were the light of her life. Mitchell, Plano, TX Grandchildren: Robert P. Bennett, Holly Collins, Carl M. Bennett, Cheryl J. Rhodes, Jessica M. Sutherland, Joshua Mitchell, Jonathan Sutherland, Heather Gabriel, Christina Mitchell, Amber Mitchell 10 Great Grandchildren Brother: Robert M. Fowler Jr., Wichita Falls, TX Madge was preceded in death by her parents, son; David Mitchell and sister Crystal Fowler.
