Lyndell "Lloyd"
Cox
August 17, 1955 – February 3, 2026
Lyndell Lloyd Cox, age 70, of Marietta, OK, was born on August 17, 1955, in Dumas, TX. He was a proud citizen of the United States.
Lyndell attended the school of hard knocks and completed some college courses after earning his GED. He had an engineering and design-minded way of thinking and enjoyed figuring out how things worked, often coming up with creative solutions in his own way.
He loved going to the lake, fishing, cooking for others and spending time with family and friends. Lyndell had a true gypsy spirit—he didn't like staying in one place for too long and was always drawn to freedom, movement, and the open road.
Lyndell loved the Lord and lived with a strong belief in a higher power. Though his life journey was colorful and not without challenges, he believed deeply in grace and forgiveness and wanted others to know their Father in Heaven. In 2014, he was baptized alongside his daughter, Brandi, a moment that meant a great deal to them both.
He had a lifelong love for motorcycles and was once part of a motorcycle club. He also enjoyed going to the casino, where he loved to play. Known for his lighthearted nature, wonderful sense of humor, and magnetic spirit, Lyndell was someone people were naturally drawn to.
He was non-judgmental, a great listener, and made others feel comfortable just being themselves. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Lyndell was blessed with two marriages, first to Sharon Aldridge and later to Misti Kirkland, through which he became the proud father of his son and daughter.
Left to carry on Lyndell's legacy are his son, Jeremy Lloyd Cox and wife Brandi; daughter, Brandi Leigh Bunda and husband Ryan; grandchildren, Tyler Cox, Brooklyn Throneberry, Summer Throneberry, Rhian Bunda and Brewer Bunda; great-grandchild, Chloe Cox; brother, Clifford Wesley Cox; sisters-in-law, Michelle Michael and husband Richard, and Susan Cox-Covalt; nieces, Vickie Salazar and husband Jody and Angie Cox; nephews, Everett Tanner and wife Linda, and Jason Cox and wife Tiffany; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom loved him dearly.
Those that preceded Lyndell in death are his father, Clifford Herschel Cox; mother, Lazell Shelton; sister, Barbara Thompson; and a brother-in-law, Victor Thompson.
The family would like to recognize the following friends as honorary pallbearers, whose presence in Lyndell's life was deeply meaningful. They are Clif Gibson, Jerred Gibson, Keagan Gibson, Destry Rushing, JD Brintle, Weston Michael, Jacoby Tomiska, Austin Solo, Vince Garner, Sunny Garza, Kirk Dudley, Dwayne Ford, Doyle Ford, Keith Ford, Kim Richards, Anthony Wood, Bill Biljat, Tim Gardner, Preston McGehee, "Boog" and "Red Dog".
A celebration of Lyndell's life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 9, 2026, at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Devin Birdsong officiating. There will be a time for friends and family to share some of their best memories of Lyndell so that his spirit of life can be spread and shared with those in attendance.
