Obituary

Lucille Godding graduated in 1951 from Rushville High School in Rushville, Missouri and was baptized on April 21, 1946 in Rushville.  She married Walter E. Godding on May 2, 1959 at the Christian Church in Rushville.  Walter adopted her two children, William and Vivian, shortly thereafter.  They spent most of their married life in Atchison, Kansas, raising 5 children together.  After Walter's death, she moved to Grapevine, Texas with her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Tom Boos and grandson, Tristan, for eight years.  She later moved to Oklahoma with her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Vicky Godding.  Lucille lived in Kingston, Oklahoma for the remainder of her life. Lucille's religious life was very important to her, and she was a member of multiple churches, including the Christina Church, Calvary Baptist, Trinity Lutheran, and Grace Lutheran. Lucille often served as a Sunday School teacher as well as a member of the Kennedy Callers.  Additionally, she spent her time reading her Bible and various religious based texts as well as enjoyed completing word searches.  Lucille was an avid sports fan and played multiple sports as a young woman.  She enjoyed taking her children to their many activities as well as watching sports on the television, especially the Kansas City Chiefs (football), the Kansas City Royals (baseball), the University of Kansas basketball, and the Texas Rangers (baseball).  In reality, she loved watching any sport on TV as well as gardening.  Lucille was a Cub Scout and Brownie leader for many years.  She helped run the family gas station and was employed by the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services for 13 years, taking care of the elderly in their homes.
