Lucille Godding graduated in 1951 from Rushville High School in Rushville, Missouri and was baptized on April 21, 1946 in Rushville. She married Walter E. Godding on May 2, 1959 at the Christian Church in Rushville. Walter adopted her two children, William and Vivian, shortly thereafter. Lucille's religious life was very important to her, and she was a member of multiple churches, including the Christina Church, Calvary Baptist, Trinity Lutheran, and Grace Lutheran. Lucille often served as a Sunday School teacher as well as a member of the Kennedy Callers. Additionally, she spent her time reading her Bible and various religious based texts as well as enjoyed completing word searches.
