Obituary

Lowell Cois Easterwood Sr., 96, of Montgomery, Texas passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at A Village Home in Montgomery.  He was born on May 10, 1928, in Wilson, Oklahoma to the late Leslie Ward Easterwood and Carrie Lee Harvey Easterwood.  He will be remembered as a loving husband and father. He was the rock of the family and was a steady influence on all that were around him. Lowell and Annabel had two children, Marcia Nell and Lowell Jr. He was raised in Russett, Oklahoma and graduated from Russett High School in 1947.  He attended Murry State College and later went to Oklahoma A&M.   Lowell married Annabel Burris on December 31, 1949, in Gainesville, Texas and she preceded him in death on August 9, 2014.  He enjoyed sports and played basketball at Russett HS and Murry College. He made a living working in the oil and gas Seismic Exploration industry and later while in Houston, owned and operated Easterwood Delivery Service.  Lowell served as a deacon at the Willow Meadows Baptist Church and South Main Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. Lowell was also a member of the Russett Baptist Church.  Lowell and Annabel lived in many states during their marriage including Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Oklahoma and Texas. He loved his family and so enjoyed going to the Burris family reunions at Blue River and traveling to the Easterwood and Harvey reunions around the country. In his later years in Oklahoma, Lowell enjoyed working around the family home and picking pecans and making a garden.

Lowell is survived by Daughter; Marcia Nell Barren and husband Richard, Montgomery, Texas, his brothers Wayne Easterwood of Hendersonville, Tennessee and Richard Easterwood of Spring, Texas.

Grandchildren; Anna Rose Barren Taborsky and husband Jeff, Wesley Hayden Barren, Brandon Easterwood, Kristin Easterwood Goetz and husband Adam, Courtney Easterwood Halstead and husband Scott

Numerous nieces and nephews

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, son Lowell Cois Easterwood Jr., and brother Dale Easterwood
