Lorraine Elizabeth Johnson, the daughter of Bear and Virginia (Ortiz) Heart, was born on September 11, 1946, in Pine Ridge, SD. She died unexpectedly on Monday, June 17, 2024, at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 77.

Lorraine was proud of her Te'wa-Oglala Sioux heritage. She attended Bacone College in Muskogee, OK and received her bachelor's degree from Northeastern Oklahoma State University in Tahlequah, OK. It was at Bacone College that she met the love of her life, Ronald Wayne "Ronnie" Johnson. They married on June 5, 1970, at the Trinity Temple in Las Vegas, NV.

Ronnie and Lorraine lived in several towns, but eventually moved to Marietta, OK in 1989 from Garland, TX. Ronnie preceded her in death on December 23, 2015, and she moved to the Baptist Village in Madill, OK where she lived until her passing.

Lorraine was a member of Marietta's First Baptist Church, where she had been the director of the nursery department and WMU coordinator for many years. During the last few years of her life, she attended the New Hope Church in Kingston, OK.

Lorraine had a passion for gardening, crafting, prayer and Bible study, and ministering to others. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and was the volunteer activities coordinator and gardener at the Baptist Village.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Russell Johnson; an angel baby; brother, Joe "Daube'"; and a baby brother.

Those left to carry on Lorraine's legacy are her daughters, Jennifer Story and husband Josh of Norman, OK, and Kathleen Brintle and husband Randy, Jr. of Kingston; grandchildren, Noah Bearheart Story, Asher Eagle Story, Layton Mac Brintle and Carter Reid Brintle; sisters, Marilyn Walker and husband Ron of Concho, AZ, and Alberta "Rusty" Montoya and husband John of Ohkay Owingeh, NM; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Funeral services for Lorraine will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 21, 2024, at Marietta's First Baptist Church with Bro. Jeremy Higle officiating. Interment will follow at the Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 20th from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home in Marietta.

Serving as casket bearers are Josh Story, Noah Bearheart Story, Asher Eagle Story, Randy Brintle, Jr., Layton Mac Brintle and Carter Reid Brintle. Honorary bearers are Charlie Soap, Gordon Meeley, Jr., Ron Walker and John Montoya.
