Obituary

Loietta (Pokey) Mary Landrum, 87 of Houston, Texas, was born on January 25, 1937, in Pike, OK to Grover Cleveland and Rosa Florence (Nichols) Baker. She was home and in the presence of her family when she peacefully went to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.

Pokey graduated High School, and attended Columbia College in Sonora, CA and Black Hills University in Spearfish, SD. She worked in sales, in social services and retired after years in banking as a senior loan investigator. She was the first woman selected to serve on the Eagle Town Board in Eagle, CO in 1977. She followed her husband, George A. Landrum, now deceased, from station to station including California, Utah, Colorado, South Dakota, Texas, and South Carolina. After their divorce, she moved to Sherman, TX, Ardmore, OK and lived the last three years with her daughter and daughter-in-law in Houston, TX.

Pokey was preceded in death by her mother, Rosa Florence (Nichols) Burge; father, Grover Cleveland Baker; brothers, Alvin Baker and Grover Cleveland "GC" (Doc) Baker; and sisters, Lois Juanita Wilson, Annie Marie Brown, and Virginia Marguerite Baker.

Left to cherish Loietta's memories are son, George Landrum II of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, daughter, Margaret "Margy" Landrum and wife Ellie Crocker of Houston. She touched many lives and loved deepl hny. She loved her sister's-in-law, many nephews, nieces, their families and friends throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and California.

A time of visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31, from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, 100 East Main, Marietta, OK. Private interment will take place at the Lakeview Cemetery in Marietta. Services are under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
