Lester Dwaine Diemer was born July 8, 1943 in Love County, OK, the son of A.W. "Dutch" Diemer and Florence Etta Smith Diemer. He passed away Saturday, September 6, 2014 at his residence at Dickson at the age of 71. Mr. Diemer had been a resident of Dickson for the past four years, previously making his home in Lone Grove, OK. He and the former Betty Williams were married in Gene Autry, OK on January 27, 1964. Mr. Diemer served in the U.S. Navy, and as a young man enjoyed bowling. His other hobbies also included drag racing and motorcycle racing as well as being an avid golfer. He had been employed as chief of aircraft maintenance for Samedan Oil Corporation. In addition, he had been a reserve officer with the Ardmore Police Department and for 10 years was a reserve with the Carter County Sheriff's Department. Mr. Diemer was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Ardmore, OK. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Holmes McCurtain; and sister, Rosetta Dobbs. Survivors include his wife, Betty of the home at Dickson; son and daughter-in-law, Lester Dwaine Diemer, Jr. and wife Nancy of Garvin, OK; daughter, Sherrie Diemer Stinson Null of the home; three sisters, Laverne Johnson of Ardmore, Lois Diemer Shaffer of Duncan, OK and Nina Diemer Love of Gordonville, TX; five grandchildren, Tabatha Mitchell, Danielle Archie, Coty Stinson, Travis Diemer and Greg Null; and seven great-grandchildren, Masyn, Hunter, Madisyn, Makayln, Tanner, Elizabeth and Kolton. Casket bearers will be Coty Stinson, Travis Diemer, Greg Null, Sammy Aguillon, Kenny Null and Bobby Stinson. Honorary bearer is Ron Kyle.
