Lawrence Daniel "Dan" Bell, 91, of the Falconhead community in Burneyville, OK, was born on December 4, 1932, in Talihina, OK to the late Robert Lafayette and Hattie (Maggard) Bell. He passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Medical City in Denton, TX.

Dan married the former Martha Eline Henry on June 10, 1955, in Ada, OK. She preceded him in death on March 13, 1997. He later married the former Pat Ponder on April 6, 2002. She preceded him in death on February 9, 2014.

Dan went into the oilfield with his father-in-law and worked in it until he retired. This profession also had his family moving to different towns to be where the work was. He also spent much time away from his family weeks at a time, his longest venture was an eight-month job in Africa consulting about offshore drilling. He was a natural doing what he grew up watching his father-in-law do.

With all his hard work, Dan also loved to get away and do fun things to relax. He was a true outdoorsman, enjoying hobbies such as hunting, fishing, golfing, photography, gardening, horseback riding, grilling, piloting his airplane, camping in the RV and motorcycle riding. One of the things he loved the most recently was sitting on his back patio and taking everything in from the golf course to the lake.

Dan was a member of the First Nazarene Church in Liberal and had often attended the Falconhead Community Chapel.

Besides his two wives, he was also preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Brad Flammang; brother, J.D. Bell; and sisters, Katherine Anderson and Eula Wright.

Left to cherish Dan's memory are his three daughters, Angela "Angie" Kay Randles of Denton, Rhonda Gay Schmidt of Broken Arrow, OK, and Lesa Marie Kifer and husband Dave of Brentwood, CA; grandchildren, Tamra Rowan and husband Reid, Kayla Holden and husband Mitchell, Brian Danley and wife Amber, Meghan Flammang, Justin Kifer and Brittney Kifer; great-grandchildren, Claire Rowan, Everett Rowan, Henry Holden, Virgil Holden, Travis Danley, Wyatt Danley, Kelci Danley, Gatlin Danley, Ryleigh Favalora, Giovanni Favalora and Frank Favalora; and several nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be on Friday, October 25, at the Liberal Cemetery in Liberal, KS. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, October 24, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home in Marietta. The family will have a Celebration of Life at a later date for family and friends.
