Obituary

LaQuita Joy Hall, 95, of Kingston, Oklahoma, went home on January 1, 2026, in Kingston, Oklahoma. She was born on October 15, 1930, in Woodville, Oklahoma, to Linwood Marsh and Leota Powers Marsh. LaQuita grew up in the Kingston area until the family moved to Borger, Texas, when she was 16. She graduated from Borger High School and later met Louis Hall, whom she married on February 3, 1950, in Gainesville, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1991.
While living in Borger, she worked many years at the Borger hospital.  In 2000, after the death of her son, Woody, she decided to return to Kingston and embarked on a new chapter of her life centered around her church, childhood friends, family, beloved dogs Jodie and Prissy, and her friends from the senior citizen center.  For several years she worked as a foster grandmother at the Chickasaw Children's Village.  Subsequently, she relocated to the Baptist Village and continued to maintain her active and independent lifestyle.
LaQuita was an active member of the new Hope Southern Baptist Church in Kingston. She loved her home, her church, her family, and her friends. Among her greatest joys were her great-grandsons. She found immense pleasure in activities such as coloring, gardening, nurturing houseplants, and showering her grand dogs with love. She was a sassy, warm and welcoming person who always delighted in visiting her friends, playing dominoes, and attending family reunions.  She was loved by many. Extended family members and children of her friends have said "she influenced me to become a Christian, she always made me feel loved and special, and she was like my second mom." She once shared some profound wisdom with a niece: "you can never have too much love."
She is survived by her daughter, Myrna Hart, of Copperas Cove, Texas; granddaughter Amy Friese and husband Peter of College Station, Texas; grandson Greg Hart and wife Amiee of Grapevine, Texas; and two great grandchildren, Thomas Hart and Kyle Friese. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Louis (Woody) Linwood Hall, her son-in-love Joe Hart, her sister Peggy Whaley, and her brother-in-law Dave Whaley.
