Kathie Lee Marsh, 72-year-old Marietta, OK resident, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024, in Gainesville, TX. No services are planned currently. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Marietta.

Kathie began this life on May 11, 1952, in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO the daughter of Verne "Bud" and Geraldine (Hughes) Barnes. She attended schools in Del City, OK. While in high school, she was a member of the cheerleading team.  After graduating with the Class of 1970, she furthered her education at East Central University in Ada, OK. Kathie resided in Midwest City, OK for a few years before moving to Rose Hill, KS. There she served as the editor for the Rose Hill Gazette. Kathie then spent some time in Ohio, Wyoming, and Denver before moving to Texas in 2015.

Kathie will be remembered as the life of the party. She was the kind of person who never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Kathie loved traveling and went on several mission trips with her father. She was also a community supporter in Littleton, CO after the 1999 Columbine High School shooting there. Even though she was very selfless in donating her time, Kathie always made time for her children and grandchildren. She spent countless hours following her boys to their sporting events and became quite a sports fan. Kathie also loved cooking and baking for her family. She found so many ways to invest her time, from shopping to playing with her precious dogs. However, the one thing she probably got the most joy from was spending time with her grandchildren.

Kathie was preceded in death by her mother, Geraldine Barnes. Those left to cherish her memory are her father, Bud Barnes of Marietta; sons, Brad Marsh and wife Nicole of Lakewood, CO and Steven Marsh and wife Missy of Thornton, CO; grandchildren, Owen Marsh, Riley Marsh, Carter Marsh, Payton Marsh, Gavin Marsh, and Dalton Marsh; brother, Allan Barnes and wife Debbie of O'Brien, FL; sister, Patti Donaldson and husband Boyd of Edmond, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
